The communication bridge for trade between Iran and Oman, a platform for the development of commercial, economic, and cultural ties between the two countries
The Iran-Oman Joint Chamber of Commerce was established in 2013, evolving from the Iran-Oman Business Council, which started in 2010 with just seven members. The chamber was formed in response to growing interest from Iranian entrepreneurs in Oman’s economic opportunities, with membership expanding from 35 to 135 members upon its creation.
During the chamber’s early years, coinciding with the implementation of the JCPOA, it played a pivotal role in hosting trade delegations, including the largest economic delegation from Oman, representing 85% of Oman’s economy. This collaboration significantly boosted trade between the two nations, with trade volume rising from $221 million in 2013 to nearly $2 billion by 2022.
The Iran-Oman Joint Chamber of Commerce will play a crucial role in enhancing trade and investment cooperation between the two countries in the future. By offering a wide range of services across various categories, the Chamber supports its members from the beginning to the successful completion of their business transactions. Through legal and commercial services, members gain access to Oman's business and tax regulations and receive guidance on company registration processes in the country. Additionally, support for trade and investment is provided through collaboration with the Iran Export Guarantee Fund and access to supportive facilities. Furthermore, by participating in committees and meetings, members can engage in specialized fields such as commerce, tourism, transportation, innovation and knowledge-based industries, legal affairs, agriculture, food industries, and investment, fostering the exchange of knowledge and experiences among members. Additionally, through consulting and information services, members stay up to date on business opportunities, including tenders in Oman, specialized exhibitions, and business seminars. Ultimately, the Iran-Oman Joint Chamber of Commerce, as an active and coordinated economic community, will play a significant role in facilitating trade exchanges between the two countries.
